About
My research centres on the history of Victorian popular culture - particularly the press. I'm currently exploring representations of America, and the circulation of American popular culture, in late-Victorian British newspapers and periodicals.
I'm also very interested in the development of digital history. In particular, I'm excited by the new methodological possibilities offered to cultural historians by the digitisation of nineteenth-century newspaper archives.
