About

I am an historian of material culture with a particular interest the changing relationships between people and their material worlds from the Middle Ages to the present day. I have a special interest in historical metallurgy and the products of other processes from the industrial period.

I have also worked for 12 years in the museum and heritage sector and was awarded the Associateship of the Museums Association in 2006 for developing skills in collections-based research and curatorship.

In 2010-11 I was Research Officer for the ESRC-funded project 'History, Heritage and Urban Regeneration: the Global and Local Worlds of Welsh Copper' at Swansea University.
